About

I’m a native North Carolinian, world traveler, and mother of three grown children. I have been, among other things, a fast food drive-thru worker, middle school teacher, and wine accessories salesperson. I currently live in Shenzhen, China.

I have more than a dozen years’ experience writing and editing professionally, mostly as a weekly columnist/contributor/editor with newspapers in North and South Carolinas, but also as a book and magazine editor. I’m a member of the North Carolina Writers’ Network and currently earn a living teaching English literature and composition at an international high school.

I hold a bachelors degree in Special Education from Appalachian State University (Boone, NC) and a masters degree in Creative Writing from NC State University (Raleigh.)

Give me some Champagne or a Negroni… and I will talk your ear off. Some of it may be inappropriate.
